Ted Adams, PhD, DrPH
Population-Based Impact of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery
Dr. Adams is currently Program and Research Director at Intermountain LiVe Well Center, part of the Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Co-Principal Investigator with the Division of Cardiovascular Genetics in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine, in Salt Lake City. Dr. Adams serves on the editorial board of Obesity: Science and Practice and has reviewed manuscripts for medical and scientific journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the British Medical Journal. John M. Morton, MD, MPH, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. John M. Morton is the elected 2014-2015 President of the ASMBS, composed of over 4,000 members from 52 countries. He is the acting Chief of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, and he also heads the Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship and is Co-Director of the Stanford Digestive Health Center.
With over 2,000 bariatric surgeries performed, he has been recognized as a bariatric surgery leader by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, RAND, American College of Surgeons, Who’s Who and America’s Top Surgeons. His clinical skills have resulted in being named Castle Connolly’s Physician of the Year for Clinical Excellence in 2012. He has also served as President of the California chapter of the ASMBS and served as the National Chairman for Access to Care and Data Dissemination for ASMBS and Member of the Committees on Public Education, Emerging Technologies, and Research.
He has been an invited speaker on weight loss surgery by the ACS, ASMBS,TOS, DDW and SAGES as well as at Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt and Harvard and internationally. He received top presentation awards from SAGES, ASMBS, and DDW. Dr. Morton has been featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, NY Times, National Public Radio, CNN, Fox, MSNBC, BBC, Newsweek, Time, Medscape, Washington Post, LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, International Herald Tribune, Reuters, United Press International, Wall Street Journal, and Associated Press.
