Overview and Target Audience
This educational activity will discuss various approaches to the long term patient who is struggling with inadequate weight loss or weight re-gain. We will have a robust discussion regarding multi-disciplinary dietary, exercise and psychologic program options. We will also discuss prescription anti-obesity medication usage. Weight recidivism following bariatric surgery is a known problem for bariatric programs. The incidence varies based on the surgical procedure but exists for all historic and current procedures.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the definition of recidivism.
- Assess the quality of data and true incidence.
- Analyze how we can treat recidivism in a multidisciplinary environment.
